		<description>Because the player is on the clubs minor league roster. So for him to be called up they have to &#34;purchase the contract&#34;. The rule 5 player is a player who is made available for other teams to take. But if they take them the MUST stay in the major leagues that year. If they get sent down, the player will go back to the 1st team.</description>
