When do MLB teams wear alternate uniforms?
When do mlb teams wear alternate uniforms? There’s a rumor that the starting pitcher (for that day) picks out the uniform before a game. Does the manager pick what days to wear alternate uniforms or are they picked based on opponent?
On some teams, the starting pitcher does pick the uniform worn. (The Rockies used that rule a few years ago.) In general, though, teams will have some internal rules about what uniforms get worn when; for example, they’ll wear the regular home and road uniforms unless there’s a double-header, or they’ll wear the alternate for Friday games (I know the Pirates do that), or something like that. The method varies from team to team.
There is a jersey for when they play at home, and an alternate jersey for when they’re away.
i know my team wear their alternate uniforms on fridays
a good amount of teams, as far as i know, wear their alternate uniforms on Friday home games. for the Orioles, we normally wear white uniforms with orange lettering when we are the home team, and we wear black shirts with white lettering on Fridays. the starting pitcher no longer has the right to pick that game’s uniform. its not based on opponent either that has nothing to do with it. and i dont think the manager chooses because the O’s have done it on Fridays for as long as i can remember throughout several different managers.
Most MLB teams wear alternate jersey when they have a double-header one day and then an away game the next.
its based on: the team they are playing, or the manager’s choice
I know the Phillies just wear there alternate unis for afternoon games at home.
