I have a sports slogan idea, for t-shirts and stuff. Should I get it copyrighted? DO I need copyright for each sport separately?

I want to do a Spring sport for my SR. year. I did track last year but got terrible shin splints that resulted in stress fractures. For conditioning for Track this year I got shin splints again *sigh* and was told by our Athletic Trainer that because of my flat feet and the way my feet roll some what when I run I will keep getting shin splints unless I greatly develop my shin muscles. (have been trying to)
Sooo I have really been thinking I don’t want to do track. 1. shin splints. 2. For my event 99% of the kids trying out are better then me 
lol.
Some friends of mine on the baseball team want me to come out for baseball. Note, I have Never played it before though. I played T-ball when I was like 7 but I don’t even remember playing it.
I don’t want to look like a complete idiot out there trying to hit a baseball and swinging all spastically…though only a few people on the team *look* like they are good in baseball lol.
I don’t know a thing about baseball either, I watch it…but I don’t know all the slogan and techniques and what not.
I don’t know. I’m a stressed out Senior that don’t know what hes doing lol.
I’m 5′7” 125lbs and would more then likely be the fastest or 2nd fastest on the baseball team. (thats not saying much though lol)
What would I be doing, batting and catching?
Ever since I broke my knuckles in my throwing hand I haven’t thrown straight, so pitching is out of the question.
I’d make the team. Our school don’t cut kids in sports if they aren’t good enough, they just might not get playing time or will be on JV.
Our baseball team is also pretty thin on players.
The board will have a baseball diamond and each base will have a different stage of children’s writing (beg. with pictures, labeling pix, writing, etc.) Any ideas for slogans or a title is welcome! or any sports-related slogans for bulletin boards!
to me a sport isn’t an activity that boils down to sitting on the bench with a towel around your neck for 99% of the final two minutes of a game when it’s a close nail biter
if a real sport is tied or very close near the end of the game the atheletes are sweating vomit for the final minutes of the game, not anointint their brows with Gatorade emblem emblazoned towels while their coaches get into a tactical chess game of 50 plays lasting .1 seconds each
just ook at the difference between a Stanley Cup playoff game in the final two minutes in a game separated by one goal, or close, and an NBA playoff game with a close score in the final two minutes and you should see that to which I refer
if basketball and baseball are considered sports then why isn’t croquet?
ok this isn’t a fair assessment - I just find the USA’s preoccupation with basketball rather absurd, same with baseball

I'm currently obsessed with New Era 59 fifties but I don't even like sports..but then again the best looking ones are ones with the major league baseball emblems. So yeah should I care and get them anyways? Im afraid to come off as a poser but I guess its inevitable.
