I don’t understand why MLB seems to schedule an off day for a lot of teams the day after opening day. It’s the only time I can think of that teams will have an off day in the middle of a series. It also seems like a waste of a day off. Could they really need a rest after just 1 game? Does anybody have an idea as to why they schedule it this way? I noticed several teams have a day off tomorrow and the Cardinals have had the second day of the season off for the past several years, this one included.

I recall reading somewhere that there is a financial incentive to MLB teams to finish over .500, even if they don’t make the playoffs. I can’t find any more details, however. Thanks in advance!

Every year, MLB teams miss the playoffs by a couple games. I’ve always wondered, ‘why in basketball do they play only 80-ish games in a season, yet half the league makes the playoffs? And in football, they play 16 weeks, and six teams from each conference make the playoffs.

In baseball, the teams play almost every single day. Shouldn’t more teams be rewarded for their hard work? I know it would be breaking tradition to change the playoff system but what would you think of it if they did?

Like Dodgers play Rockies in El Paso, TX.
Yankees play Blue Jays in Vancouver, BC…..

Just to benefit those fans who live in the cities without any MLB teams….

Will it work?

Is there a database/website that shows an MLB team’s longest winning and losing streaks in any given year?

A lap jersey is a disposable cover that keeps food off your clothes that looks like a game jersey with pro NFL, NBA,and MLB team logos on it.

MLB Batting helmets team logo covered in tobacco spit or worse, fecal matter. Sorry, it looks hiddeous

When do mlb teams wear alternate uniforms? There’s a rumor that the starting pitcher (for that day) picks out the uniform before a game. Does the manager pick what days to wear alternate uniforms or are they picked based on opponent?

..Like how MLB hats have the MLB logo on the back of the hat.

Do MiLB hats have the same, but with the minor league baseball emblem?

I’m speaking in terms of the new era 5950, or on-field performance cap.

The "pointed ‘C’" is used by both the Chicago Bears of the NFL and the Cincinnati Reds of the MLB. Is there a reason that they would choose to make the "C" pointed on the back end? Is there a significance to two different cities using the logo?
Update: This type of C is called a "Wishbone C."" Also, The Minnesota Twins of MLB use it as well. Still, what is the origin of the "Wishbone C" and why do multiple franchises use it?

My thinking is that the team already has a contract with that player, so in the MLB Daily transactions, why do they list the team as purchasing the contract. Is the team paying themselve’s for the contract or is this a price the player receives for being called up to the show?

There’s a blog that puts together schedules for all MLB teams by looking at all of the different press releases from all 30 teams — and figures out who plays who and when.

For instance, Yankees only released dates for important series (Red Sox, Mets, inter-league) but other teams have released entire 2008 schedule.

Help to finding blog that completes 2008 schedule?

Thanks in advance!!

I recently had a conversation with a friend about MLB logos. He argued that the MLB owns all the teams logos. He said that all the revenue from apparel goes to the MLB beacuse of their ownership of the logos. I am a business student, and to me this seemed absurd. I live in Boston, and to to think the Sox make no money off the millions of product lines with their logo on it is unimaginable. Can someone shed light?

What are the length and width dimensions of the mlb logo that is on the back of all pro jerseys near the neckline of the jersey above the players name and number?

Little Leagues teams do it all the time after games,Also when I used to play junior league baseball we shook hands with the other team and made a shaking hands straight line. How would baseball players feel if the mlb commissioner made a rule that "teams should shake hands with their opponent everyday after each game or they will get suspended for unsportsmanlike and not giving respect"Its like little leagues do it.If I was the commissioner I will make that rule.IT SHOWS RESPECT

I know that I have to have permission to use any of MLB’s logo to use on my products that I want to sell, but is it easy or costly to do it? I already emailed a team to see If I can have their permission to use one and I got a reply saying that I must get a MLB licenses in order to do it, but does that cost a lot to get? and what exactly is a MLB licenses?

Thanks in advance for your time answering and reading.

I was wondering what MLB teams have never played a game in Toronto. I am quite sure that this will be the Cincinatti Reds first ever trip to Toronto on Tuesday but I am not sure if there are others.

If someone has a link that says who hasn’t played baseball in Toronto and a link that says this is Cincinatti’s first trip to Toronto it would be greatly appreciated.

Why are MLB teams allowed to play college teams during the preseason? I never seen another professional sports league do this and I wonder how this benefits anyone? How embrassing must it feel if you lose to a college team but at same time how does it feel to be demolished by professionals? We already had two interesting games of college vs pros. In a split squad game the Boston Red Sox beat Boston College 24-0. The other day the University of Michigan played the New York Mets to a 4-4 draw.

I want to make some old school uniforms for our Little Leaue. looking for art work from MLB from 1957.

If you look at the three-colored logo for MLB, the colors, from left to right, are blue, white, and red. THESE are the colors of France! America’s colors are red, white, and blue. Why has MLB done this? Is this a conspiracy? *laughter*

I would like to use MLB and NFL team logos on my product but I’m not sure how to get a hold of the right MLB or NFL officials for permission.

I restarted my computer & the MLB icon was replaced by the red Yahoo logo. I still don’t understand why that happened.
