How much money does it take to put an NHL, NBA, or MLB, logo on a product???
I have a good idea for a product. It will have a picture of the player himself, obviously having the team logo. I heard that getting an NHL logo on your product is very expensive, never mind a star player too. I heard it can take 50 grand for having the logo itself. Is it really that heard to have your product licensed??
Each league has its own rules on trademark licensing. Many of the problems you might face.
You might have to agree to produce a minimum number of pieces, say 100,000.
You may have to provide samples at no charge to the league
You may have to pay an entrance fee just to be set up as an authorized licensee even before you make a single item.
For pro sports, you will probably have to pay royalties to the athlete in addition to the team or league licensing for the logo.
